Success at MAN

MAN paid tribute to JOST’s efforts to win over customers with first-class service and top quality in May 2004, when JOST was named “Trucknology Supplier 2003”. It was the first time the award was conferred.

In future, MAN will award this prize to a maximum of 10 of its 1,000 suppliers every year. JOST was the only company to receive the coveted award in the field of fifth wheel couplings.

An interdisciplinary committee from MAN’s buying, logistics, technology and quality assurance departments assessed the suppliers in a two-stage process. In the first stage, marks were given for logistical services, quality, technical expertise and cooperation, as well as for competitiveness and the commercial aspect of the cooperation. Those who passed this stage with flying colours were subsequently evaluated on the basis of the more exacting considerations of reliability, dynamism, openness and innovativeness. Håkan Samuelsson, Chairman of the Board at MAN Commercial Vehicles praised the award winners and emphasised that: “Reliable and strong partners in innovation contribute to our value added, and therefore have a hand in the success of the MAN commercial vehicle brand.”

In addition to the title “Trucknology Supplier 2003”, the outstanding cooperation between JOST and MAN was also acknowledged by means of an extremely positive announcement. At the award ceremony, Håkan Samuelsson divulged that: “In future, JOST will be our sole couplings supplier.”
