First heat held in the SCANIA "Young European Truck Driver 2007" competition

The first heat has taken place in the JOST-sponsored "Young European Truck Driver" competition. Twelve drivers, eleven men and one woman, now eagerly await the German final on 7 July 2007.

On the weekend the legendary Truck Grand Prix is held at the Nürburgring in the Eifel region of Germany, the twelve will compete at this famous track's Driving Safety Centre to find out which of them is the best truck driver. The German winner will qualify for the big European final in Sweden on 22 September.

Through its driving competition, Scania underlines its commitment to increasing safety on Europe's roads. This also ties in with JOST’s own company objectives. For many years now, JOST has developed innovative solutions to make the coupling of trailers or semi-trailers easier - and above all safer. Sophisticated mechanical systems to ensure that the coupling is fully locked are just as much a part of JOST’s product range as sensor-controlled warning lights or fully automated couplings with a control display in the driver’s cab.

We are therefore delighted to support the "Young European Truck Driver 2007" competition. You can find out more about the competition at http://www.scania.co.uk/
