The IAA commercial vehicles trade show 2012 was a complete success!
The trade fair has become larger and more international – for JOST too. Matthias Wissmann, President of the VDA, and Klaus Bräunig, one of the Managing Directors, saw this for themselves.
With 354 world premieres – including over two-thirds of suppliers – there was a record number of innovations at this year's IAA. 1,904 exhibitors (9% more than in 2010) from 46 countries received 260,000 interested visitors (also an increase of 9% compared to 2010).
The expert proportion of the visitors was 85%, and up to 92% on weekdays. More good news: 27% of the expert visitors plan to invest in the commercial vehicles sector in the next six to twelve months. This is creating a positive atmosphere.
This leading trade fair has become more international
Over a quarter of the expert visitors came from abroad; on weekdays the proportion was even higher at 46%. The strongest growth was seen among visitors from Asian countries (at 21%, twice as many as in 2010). This was obvious at the JOST booth, too. More languages – not just English – were spoken; the presence of JOST's international country representatives (the company has branches on every continent) was a big help, as they were able to explain and demonstrate the JOST products to an interested audience.
VDA President Matthias Wissmann and Klaus Bräunig, one of the Managing Directors of VDA, were able to experience the international flair of the JOST booth for themselves. The fact that JOST is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year also delighted famous visitors, who received a cap embroidered with their name and marveled at the retro-look petrol station with merchandising products from the past 60 years. All in all, the increased internationality of the leading trade fair and its many visitors, who were predominantly experts and potential buyers from the commercial vehicles industry, created a constructive atmosphere and allowed everyone to look forward to the next year with optimism.
