JOST World presents strong products at Transpotec Logitec 2022

Live demonstrations of the new KKS automatic coupling system, as well as innovative new products and tried and tested products on the exhibition stand: JOST will be welcoming the international exhibition public at Transpotec from 12 to 15 May in Milan. In addition to the KKS, special product highlights are the Drawbar Finder upgrade kit and the ZGA command steer axle with the EF-S electronic steering system.

Automatic coupling system KKS: faster, safer, more efficient
KKS, which has been introduced in spring 2021, enables the drivers to perform the coupling and uncoupling of the semi-trailer automatically, quickly and safely from the driver's cab by remote control. Efficiency, convenience and safety gains are made possible with just one product. The KKS automatic coupling system thus represents the future of logistics and is an important building block for autonomous driving. There will be live demonstrations of the new KKS at the show, so the trade fair public is able to have a look at JOST's product innovation.

JOST Modul E-Drive: the electric landing gear for more comfort and safety
At Transpotec, JOST exhibits the Modul E-Drive electric landing gear, which is also part of the KKS system. Modul E-Drive eliminates the need for power-intensive manual cranking and makes it easier to couple and uncouple the trailer. Additionally, the Modul E-Drive is particularly suitable for frequent semitrailers, as it enables simple operation at the push of a button. The drive of this landing gear switches off automatically when it comes into contact with the ground or when the landing legs are completely retracted. Differences in height between the trailer and the tractor can be compensated for by means of the vehicle's air suspension or by manually cranking the load gear. The electric landing gear effortlessly manages its operation at outside temperatures of up to -20 °C. Modul E-Drive is based on the highly reliable Modul components and is available in various mounting heights. The internal gearbox of the Modul E-Drive is maintenance-free. Thanks to the long-term lubrication ex works and the low-wear design, the life cycle costs are extremely low.

OPTIMA: the new weight-optimised landing gear
n Milan, JOST also presents the latest member of the Modul family, the OPTIMA landing gear. It’s an ideal solution for long-distance transport applications thanks to its weight optimization. OPTIMA is also based on the reliable Modul components and, with its reduced weight, contributes to a higher payload and thus to increased trailer economy. It is available in all three plate positions as well as in four different mounting heights and is based on the standard market mounting dimensions.

JOST ZGA command steer axle with electronic steering system EF-S from TRIDEC
Narrow depots, winding city centres and a 16.5 m long tractor trailer that needs to be steered safely – this is where conventional axle systems reach their limits and the use of a command steer axle is required. The new JOST ZGA is convincing in a wide range of applications and can be used with all common steering systems, whether mechanical, hydraulic or electronic. It also offers other outstanding performance features, such as the low steering roll radius. At Transpotec, JOST shows the ZGA combined with the electronic steering system EF-S from TRIDEC. Here, up to three ZGA axles can be used. The steering angle can be easily adapted to the available space for installation and the required maneuverability.

Drawbar Finder: smart solution for the coupling process
With the Drawbar Finder, ROCKINGER presents the latest innovation at Transpotec: Here, a camera sits centrally and protected above the trailer coupling, quasi as a "third eye" – thus there is no offset to the towing eye. The visual guidance in two directions, horizontal and vertical, enables precise coupling, which increases efficiency and helps to avoid accidents. The driver no longer needs to get out of the cab to check the correct drawbar eye setting.

ROCKINGER: proven towing hitch RO*50E
With the proven towing hitch RO*50E, the traditional brand ROCKINGER presents a towing hitch that is characterised by its robust and low-maintenance design as well as its simple and safe handling. The RO*50E features the ROCKINGER release lever principle, which enables smooth engagement even under difficult drawbar eye angles. The coupling only closes when the drawbar eye is fully retracted into the jaw. The proven ROCKINGER release lever principle prevents incorrect coupling due to a closing process that is triggered too early or jerky coupling, as is necessary with the standard pin lifting system. A new feature is that the RO*50E is also available with a cast steel jaw for robust coupling.

The JOST World stand is located at this year's Transpotec in Hall 22P, Stand D21 E28.
