JOST at Automechanika Dubai

Premiere for the automatic coupling system KKS in the MENA region

At Automechanika Dubai, taking place from 2nd to 4th October, JOST will be showcasing innovative new assistance systems, in addition to its wide-ranging proven product program with components and systems for commercial vehicles. The automatic coupling system KKS will be presented for the first time in the MENA region. The KKS enables drivers to couple and uncouple semi-trailers via remote control without leaving the driver’s cabin, automatically, safely and quickly. The driver is guided through the entire coupling process, with sensor technology providing live information on the KKS remote control throughout every step of the process. Other highlights of the JOST exhibition stand A34 in Hall 2 are the electric landing gear Modul E-Drive, the weight-optimised axle DCA WEIGHTMASTER PLUS, which is the lightest axle in its class, and the new drum modular axle JOST DMA, which ensures maximum flexibility for every transport application.

The JOST brand has been established in the Middle East market for many years. In November 2022, JOST expanded its global network with the formation of JOST Middle East FZCO in Dubai. With the site in Dubai, there is a local branch which can act immediately and is available at all times for customers. Automatic coupling via remote control with KKS: faster, safer, more efficient

Premiere in the MENA region: At Automechanika Dubai JOST presents the KKS to the audience for the first time. The KKS enables drivers to couple and uncouple semi-trailers via remote control without leaving the driver’s cabin, automatically, safely and quickly. The driver is guided through the entire coupling process, with sensor technology providing live information on the KKS remote control throughout every step of the process. For example, the support plate sensor indicates that the trailer plate is touching and the position of the king pin is also monitored by sensors. Climbing out of the cabin to manually open the fifth wheel, cranking down the landing gear and manually connecting the spiral cable, air and brake connections are all a thing of the past for drivers. Time, comfort and safety gains are made possible with just one product.

JOST Modul E-Drive: the electric landing gear for enhanced convenience and safety

JOST will also exhibit the Modul E-Drive electric landing gear, which is available both individually and as part of the KKS system. Modul E-Drive eliminates strenuous manual cranking and makes coupling and decoupling the semi-trailer easier. Easy to operate at the touch of a button, Modul E-Drive is ideal for trailers that need to be coupled or decoupled frequently. The landing gear drive also shuts down automatically in the event of ground contact or when the landing gear is fully retracted. Differences in height between the trailer and the tractor can be compensated using the vehicle’s pneumatic suspension or manual cranking in a low gear. The electrical landing gear operates effortlessly at every outside temperature. It incorporates the highly reliable Modul components and is available in various mounting heights. The Modul E-Drive’s internal drive requires no maintenance. Thanks to the long-term lubrication applied in the factory and the wear-resistant design, life-cycle costs are very low.
